A building or house insurance covers costs arising from lightning, fire- storm- and water damages.
It’s an insurance that covers damages to a (privately owned/used) house that arise from a expressly named danger. A large number of dangers is insured (fire, explosion, lightning strikes, smoke- and soot-damage, storm, burglary and theft, various forms of water damages, collision, vandalism). The property is insured on the basis of the rebuilding value. Excluded are causes with a catastrophic nature, such as war situations, nuclear reactions and flooding.
